Top 5 Recipes for Avocado Toast

From healthiest to most delicious, these are our favorite avocado toast recipes!

We don’t care your age, your political affiliation, or even where you live, it's undeniable that avocado toast is one of the tastiest meals in the world. And if you don’t agree, it’s probably because you haven’t tried one of these recipes!

It sounds simple, toast some bread, add a few slices of avocado and viola, you’re in heaven. But if you really want to take your brunch, lunch, or dinner to the next level, you’re going to want to spice up that avocado toast with some add-ons and specialty-made breads.

So, whether you’re a dedicated fan of avocado toast or you’re a newcomer to this wonderful world, these are the recipes that will make you dream of brunch every night.

Our first recipe is the most simple, for the novices if you will. It’s the easiest version of the avocado toast because it only involves two things, avocado and toast. What you need to remember though is that the TOAST IS EVERYTHING. If you’re using sad, white-loaf bread, it’s obvious your meal will fail. We recommend La Boulangerie’s Croissant Toast, the freshest, flakiest bread available for online order. It will make all the difference. It’s like have a fresh bakery right in your kitchen with the combination of flakey crust and buttery inside. For every recipe, we recommend La Boulangerie.

So, the simplest version of Avocado Toast:

1. Mash one avocado in a bowl.

2. Add a teaspoon of olive oil, and salt/pepper to taste.

3. Toast two slices of La Boulangerie’s Croissant Toast.

4. Once the toast is ready, spread the avocado on the toast.

5. Sprinkle seasoning! (We use Everything But The Bagel seasoning)

2. AVOCADO TOAST WITH SPROUTS AND CAYENNE

Our second favorite recipe takes avocado up one notch with a fresh crunch. One of my favorite ingredients to add to pretty much ANYTHING are bean sprouts! They taste so fresh and give any meal a little extra kick. You feel like a super yoga mom eating them, too! And speaking of kicks, this recipe adds just a little cayenne and crushed red pepper flakes to spice up your life!

1. Mash one avocado in a bowl.

2. Add a teaspoon of olive oil, and salt/pepper to taste.

3. Toast two slices of La Boulangerie’s Croissant Toast.

4. Once the toast is ready, spread the avocado on the toast.

5. Place fresh bean sprouts on top of the avocado.

6. Sprinkle crushes red pepper and the smallest amount of cayenne to taste.

3. PROSCIUTTO AND AVOCADO TOAST

Let’s add one of my favorite salted meats… prosciutto! If you like a savory kick to your avocado toast, it’s the easiest way to get it. Thin slices of prosciutto and fresh green onions make this a great lunch-time recipe. In this recipe we sliced the prosciutto nice and small so it’s easier to bite.

1. Toast two slices of La Boulangerie’s Croissant Toast.

2. Slice avocado in quarters.

3. Add slices of avocado to the toast.

4. Add slices of prosciutto.

5. Add fresh cracked pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.

6. Top with fresh green onions.

PICO DE GALLO:

Combine chopped ripe tomatoes, minced red onion, jalapeno, chopped cilantro, and lime juice.

4. LOX AND AVOCADO TOAST

I had to start skipping my morning bagel to try and save some calories, so this is one of my favorite lunches when I have the time to make it. It’s a simple recipe but you’re going to want to find some really tasty lox, smoked salmon, as that’s the most important part of this recipe.

1. Toast two slices of La Boulangerie’s Croissant Toast.

2. Slice avocado in quarters.

3. Add slices of avocado to the toast.

4. Once the toast is ready, spread creme fraiche on the toast (or cream cheese!).

5. Spread the slices of avocado.

6. Ad the loc, smoked salmon.

7. Top with pickled onions.

8. Sprinkle with chives on top.

5. BREAKFAST AVOCADO TOAST

And for everyone who’s wondering where the breakfast version of avocado is, here you go! This is the classic breakfast style with bacon and eggs. Perfect for a man’s man who’s afraid to look like a girly girl and need their bacon… or just for a girl that appreciates a classic breakfast.

1. Mash one avocado in a bowl.

2. Add a teaspoon of olive oil, and salt/pepper to taste.

3. Toast two slices of La Boulangerie’s Croissant Toast.

4. Once the toast is ready, spread the avocado on the toast.

5. Add two slices of crispy bacon

6. Add one fried egg, over easy!

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE TOAST - WHY WE CHOSE LA BOULANGERIE

There really is very little competition between La Boulangerie and all other breads. It’s by-far the number one pick for avocado toast… along with any other kind of sandwich or snack. To help give us some more clarity into why, we asked one of our reporters that helped us build our recipe list. Stephanie Mason, to give us a little more insight on her first choice.

To be honest, I wasn’t much of a bread eater in the last few years. When you walk down grocery aisles, most of the selection looks bad or just doesn’t seem healthy. And when I went to the bakery, it felt like every time I bought a loaf of bread, the next day it was stale and uneatable.

I had pretty much given up on bread when I visited my friend, who I trust with my life. She made me lunch and served me the most delicious BLT sandwich. I couldn’t get over how fresh and soft the bread was. I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I asked what bakery she picked it up at. She laughed and told me it was La Boulangerie (like I knew!). That’s when she pulled a bag of Croissant Toast OUT OF THE FREEZER! I couldn’t believe she froze the bread and I thought was baked that day. I was floored. I asked her for the rest of the loaf (LOL) but she told me to order my own. And seeing they were offering 50% off your first order, I DID NOT hesitate.

I received my order in just two days and was so excited to try it out. While I made my first breakfast with it, I learned a little more about the bread…

NON-GMO

La Boulangerie uses all non-gmo ingredients, which help keep it’s fresh flavor and as natural as possible.

CAGE-FREE EGGS

If you’re concerned about an animal’s well-being as I am, it’s good to know the food you’re eating is using cage-free eggs. It drastically changes the well-being of chickens, and personally, I think it makes for better eggs.

NO ARTIFICIAL PRESERVATIVES

What shocked me the most was that La Boulangerie doesn’t use any artificial preservatives. For how fresh it tasted days after receiving, I was blown away. I don’t know how they do it, but it’s some of the freshest bread I’ve ever eaten.

After a breakfast of french toast, I waited a few hours before digging into the bread again and making myself an avocado sandwich. I truly love how versatile this bread can be. From the flakey croissant to the soft center. It’s how I came up with the idea to make this list of avocado toast recipes!

After trying La Boulangerie’s Croissant Toast, I was totally converted into a bread-lover. Whether you are one or not, I definitely recommend this loaf!
